In investment casting or die casting, products leaving the mold are often in a raw form. To achieve sophistication and meet assembly and operational standards, the surface treatment stage plays a pivotal role. At Yusheng Vietnam, we apply advanced treatment technologies to optimize the physical characteristics and appearance of components.

1. Why is Surface Treatment Important?

No matter how precise a cast product is, it still needs surface treatment to:

• Remove Defects: Clear away burrs, flash, gate marks, and oxide layers formed during the melting process.

• Improve Roughness: Adjust the surface roughness to meet technical requirements (from matte to mirror finish).

• Enhance Adhesion: Provide the best foundation for subsequent painting, plating, or protective coating stages.

2. Key Surface Treatment Technologies at Yusheng

We are proud to operate modern machinery systems at our Di An factory (5,832 m2) to implement these solutions:

+ Sandblasting & Shot Blasting

This method uses a high-pressure compressed air stream to fire technical sand or small steel beads at the product surface.

• Effect: Quickly cleans thermal scales, creates a uniform surface, and hardens the metal surface.

+ Vibratory Finishing

Products are placed in a vibrating tub with specialized grinding media and supporting chemicals.

• Effect: Rounds off sharp edges (burrs) and smooths hard-to-reach surfaces of machine parts without geometric deformation.

+ Mechanical Polishing

Utilizing grinding wheels and polishing compounds to create a shine on stainless steel, copper, or aluminum surfaces.

• Effect: Brings a luxurious, high-end look to automotive interior components and household appliances.

+ Chemical Treatment (Pickling & Passivation)

Especially important for stainless steel cast products.

• Effect: Removes iron impurities from the surface and creates a passive oxide film, helping stainless steel resist environmental corrosion to the maximum extent.

At Yusheng, the surface treatment process is strictly monitored according to IATF 16949:2016 standards:

• Roughness Inspection: Using specialized measuring devices to ensure Ra and Rz indices meet drawing standards.
